Next stop is the fishing port, where we will take a glance at the different ships, fishing gears and meet the “redeiras“(net workers), people who build and repair the fishing nets. For sure we will find on this route a few “dogs of the sea” (fishermen), the best place to meet them is the lonja, where the fish auction takes place from Monday to Friday, an event not to be missed. Approximate duration and calendar: 2 hours from Monday to Friday. COSTA DA VELA CAPES AND LIGHTHOUSES: Walk along a trail of sand and earth to know the vineyards near the sea, from which we obtain an excellent white wine, we will see some of the best beaches in O Morrazo and visit an old salting factory in ruins. We will arrive to the lighthouses of Costa da Vela, protected by the presence of the Cíes Islands. And if there is enough energy to continue we will climb till Monte Facho, an exceptional viewpoint of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands. Approximate duration and calendar: 4 hours daily. SHELLFISH GATHERERS OF MOAÑA: We come up to the sandy beaches of Moaña to see the shellfish harvesters in action. We continue its track to the fish market, where we will explain the auction process in order to learn more about seafaring in Galicia. Approximate duration and calendar: 2 hours from Monday to Friday. OLD SALT MARSHES ROUTE OF CROA: A spectacular and easy route to the bottom of the Estuary of Vigo, during which we will have the opportunity to go into the ruins of a posada that looks magical, and was once a salt storehouse and refuge for villagers and pilgrims making their way along this royal pathway. We will stroll through the dikes of the old Ulló salt mines and we will see where an old tidal mill was sited, while also observing a wide variety of flora and fauna. This is an excellent tour for birdwatching lovers. Approximate duration and calendar: 2 hours daily. ESTUARY OF ALDÁN: We walk along the beautiful Aldán estuary, visiting the fishing harbour with its traditional boats. Aldán is famous for the mussel hatcheries that we can easily see from its dock.
