This gate is the work of the military engineer Julian Sanchez Bort (18th century). It is opposite the monument to those who fell in Africa, and connects the Arsenal to the Magdalena area of the city. The royal coat of arms of Carlos III appear on the gate. The upper part of the gate consists of a tower culminating in a semi-spherical dome, with a wrought iron lantern. This square tower is decorated with Ionic order pilasters. The triumphal arch is flanked by two Tuscan order columns.
