Since 1963, the capital of the O Ribeiro region has been celebrating a festival dedicated to its wine, a famed product of ancient tradition that undoubtedly encapsulates the identity of this Ourense region. This is the Feira Exposición do Viño do Ribeiro (Ribeiro Wine Exhibition Fair), a good opportunity to discover and taste the variety of wines, white and red, that are produced in these lands bathed by the Miño, Avia and Arnoia rivers. Wineries and winemakers belonging to the Ribeiro Denomination of Origin take part in the fair with products that prove their excellence every year and explains the well-deserved national and international popularity of the fresh, light and transparent wines, characterized by their surprising combinations of floral and fruity aromas.  In the first days of the fair, the exhibition is geared towards professionals. Technical conferences are held and hoteliers, importers, restaurateurs and specialized press all participate.

On the weekend, the general public has the opportunity to participate in a popular food tasting contest, and a very popular craft market is set up in the Plaza de A Magdalena square. Sports, musical entertainment and street parties, together with an agricultural machinery exhibition, make up the festivities whose main objective is to promote O Ribeiro wines.
