In this area the tinned food industry is located, and at the same time it contains the world's largest number of mussel punts. Due to its nearness to Santiago de Compostela many people from this ancient city made Noia their beach and seaport.

Casa Peto Outes kitchen workshop

Casa Peto is on the Muros e Noia estuary. Galicia’s most famous cockles are extracted from its sandbanks, unloaded and auctioned at O Freixo fish market. The cockles and clams we combine with other products from the sea are also from the same place. We will visit the shellfish farm (trip in own car) to select the duly purified molluscs with which we will prepare delicious recipes to be tasted in the restaurant.

From inside the tide mill we can see the milling machinery, with informative panels of the wole set. Other activities are also held in this space like workshops and exhibitions.

 Costa Viva Cruceros offers tourist cruises along Muros e Noia estuary with submarine vision and tastings of typical products of the area. During the trip you visit hatcheries, tide mills, lighthouses, beaches, islands, etc., with a guide on board.

Muros e Noia estuary from Joaquín Vieta’s sloop

Departing from O Freixo we sail to discover the estuary culture. We will stop at the shipyards or old salting factories, and head out to the mussel hatcheries. Optionally we can cast the trolling lines and if lucky prepare and eat on board the catches. Otherwise there will be a snack of Galician pie at mid-morning.

Marine tourism in Portosín – PortoCelta

Embark and participate in a fishing day on a purse seine vessel of the Portosín fishermen’s guild. The boat sails from Portosín in the evening and returns to port to unload the day’s fishing.
