The museum has material of great historical value that makes possible an interesting trip through the history of the canning industry from its origins and through the history of the business association created by the pioneering canning manufacturers known as Union of Canning Manufacturers ofVigo Estuary.

Routes along Vigo estuary and Cíes islands on a schooner

 Merak Náutica offers regular routes departing from Vigo Real Club Náutico via the Cíes islands and Vigo estuary on board the schooner Nauja. This classic vessel was built in 1928 and restored today as a passenger vessel. The sailing routes proposed are interpreted by a professional guide and accompanied by a tasting.

Galicia Marine Museum

 The historically long link of Galicians to the sea via their use and knowledge of it, is patent in this space, which introduces us to fishing and its evolution: fishing, shellfish harvesting and aquiculture, preservation methods, technical advances, vessels or marine biology. In the aquarium we will see the main ecosystems found between the museum’s harbour and cliff coast of the Cíes Islands.
