A MIÑA VIAXE
Organized by the Meiro Cultural Association, a gastronomic fair takes place that is the culmination of a year-long effort for the ethnographic, educational, cultural and gastronomic recovery of maíz cuervo. This is a variety of black corn, almost extinct in the Morrazo region, which is grown with the participation of associations and educational centres.
At the Meeting-Tasting, attendees have the opportunity to try all kinds of products made with maíz cuervo corn flour (bread, cakes, empanadas,) and the public can discover, between workshops and exhibitions, the entire natural cycle of maíz cuervo, popular architecture, and the different farming techniques and tools. Additionally, throughout the weekend there are performances by traditional groups, guided tours, storytelling, workshops on traditional trades, talks, and screenings, in a great celebration of intangible heritage.
Not to be missed:
In the Ecotaberna, recipes made with maíz cuervo and sale of products from the village.
