Festa da Bica de Trives (Trives Sponge Cake Festival) has been held every year for almost half a century (since the first edition in 1972). Trives residents meet up at the summit of the Manzaneda mountain on the last weekend in July to celebrate the bica sponge cake as a culinary icon of the area. This is a typical dish in the region of Trives that has a deep connection with the land. The celebration cements its status as in important part of the local identity of the municipality and the district.
