The historic center of Mondoñedo, singled out by the Asunción Cathedral, was declared a historic-artistic complex in 1985, which constitutes an ideal setting for the celebration of this festival that is held on the second weekend of August and transforms this town into a medieval city.

This medieval market is one of the oldest in the province.

In the cathedral square and the main streets artisan stalls show the traditional crafts and trades of the Middle Ages. During the market, you can taste a variety of food and participate in popular games.

Live shows, performances, archery competitions, Great Medieval Tournament, with the participation of Celtic equestrian specialists, and a medieval Mozarabic wedding are also celebrated in A Fonte Vella.
