Have you ever seen an osprey?

It is the most cosmopolitan bird of prey in the world. We can find it in any place but the distant Antarctica, whether in the coast or in any kind of wetland.

In Galicia, the osprey is not abundant but it is easy to observe. It is a big bird with a peculiar silhouette and we can find it in many different Galician wetlands. If we are lucky we can watch him fishing.

The most likely places to watch it are the Ría de Ribadeo, the Abegondo-Cecebre reservoir, the ría de Vigo  and the River Miño estuary in A Guarda. Next January 14th volunteers will conduct a census.
