To ensure the preservation of different areas due to their natural, cultural, scientific, educational or landscape interest, these areas can be classified as Special Protection Area of Natural Values (ZEPVN). This classification includes special areas within the Natura 2000 Network (EC directive 79/409 and 92/43) that do not have any other site status and where traditional uses and activities are possible provided they do not violate the fundamental values. Natura 2000 is a European network of protected areas that includes Sites of Community Importance (S.C.I.) and Special Protection Areas for Birds (ZEPA).
