Description

For 350 years, the Bembrive Minor Local Entity has embraced one of the most popular festivals in Galicia: the San Brais de Bembrive. It is a festival that has been celebrated for generations, on the 3rd of February each year, when the Saint’s devotees gather along with those simply devoted to music or gastronomy. Among the defining elements of this festival is the religious pilgrimage, the ritual of lighting a candle to the Saint to protect against throat troubles, enjoying wine in furanchos and eating a pig's head. The region’s musical tradition should also be highlighted, with groups of accordions, choirs, student music groups, folk, traditional dancing, tambourines and bagpipes.
