This sandy beach has a dune system with botanical species such as sea thrift (Armeria maritima), known popularly in Galician as herba de namorar (literally, herb of love). In winter beached cetaceans can often be seen, especially bottlenose dolphins, dolphins and longfinned pilot whales.
