The Baroque church of Santa María de Astariz has a simple style. It is comprised of a single nave with side apses. The most interesting elements are inside, where valuable altarpieces are preserved in very good condition. They were made in 1748 by the sculptor Salvador Carmona and donated by the Count of Troncoso, a true patron of the arts in the region.
The relief of the souls and the image of St. Jude Thaddeus are especially noteworthy.
