On the Way of St. James
Description
The Lóuzara valley, in the municipality of Samos, is considered an extension of the O Courel mountain range from a geological and biological point of view. One of the characteristics they share is the presence of limestone soils, which facilitates the formation of numerous underground cavities.
In the place of Santalla (Samos) is A Cova da Fonte. As its name suggests, a small stream gushes out inside it, which later precipitates in the form of a waterfall. The cavity is two meters high and 60 meters long. Inside, limestone formations abound, such as lava flows, stalactites and stalagmites.
