In the Méndez Núñez Gardens are two groups of Canary Island date palms. The biggest specimen can be found among the rosebushes. Its trunk or crown shaft measures 20.6 metres and shows the scars made by the leaves after falling off. Its crown reaches 27.2 metres in height.
