The estuary of A Coruña is the urban estuary par excellence, because the west side is occupied by the city and the east side is practically an extension, but scattered with excellent beaches, such as Santa Cristina, Santa Cruz, Bastiagueiro, Mera... And in the centre of the A Coruña city, separated by the breakwater, the beaches of Playas de Riazor and Orzán, with perfect waves for surfing.

The Tower of Hércules, built by the Romans and the world's oldest lighthouse that is still functioning, watches over this estuary.

In A Coruña, also known as the Glass City, it is a pleasure to stroll along the fishing port or under the beautiful glass windows of the Marina and the Cantones area. Or to explore its museums, including the wonderful Archaeological Museum located in the San Antón castle, which, together with the Santa Cruz castle ewere the fortresses that formerly defended the city.
