Description

Pazo on a rectangular ground plan, with a small adjoining chapel added on. Made with granite ashlar masonry and rubblework and roofed with slate on four sides. A square chimney sticks out from the roof with classical ornaments. The central part of the main facade contains a panel of granite blocks framing the entrance doorway in a semi-circular arch with voussoirs. Right above it there are three interesting shields aligned and framed in a single piece, with the arms of Arias-Conde, Luaces, Aguiar-Pardo and Pedrosa, shields separated by two large St. Andrew´s crosses. The semi-circular lintel of a window contains some engravings from the house´s original blazons. On another window lintel, a date is recorded, 1570, which is taken to be the foundation year of the site by the lineage of Pedrosa, descendants of the O´Connors of Ireland, because there is a legend that tells of their journey to Galicia, fleeing the religious wars in Ireland. The adjoining chapel conserves a bell-gable with a single opening and an engraved lintel over the door. It also has a sizeable hórreo.
