To see them, we will take the PO-552 road from A Guarda to Tui. Near the cemetery we turn right. These natural pools can be found in the stretch of the Tamuxe, Carballo or Carballal river, below the Pedregales bridge. This river is a tributary of the Minho. There are actually five dams, built to feed fifteen watermills. The route is not signposted.
