On Mount Santa Tegra there is a shrine built between the 12th and 16th centuries, dedicated to the saint of the same name. The rites held in honour of this saint have their origin in a seven-year drought that caused great damage throughout the region. Since then, and we are talking about 1355, the devotees climb the mountain as penance, with only bread and water to sustain them, to give thanks to the saint for her favourable intervention.
