Costa da Morte

The Costa da Morte represents the essence of Galicia

Natural Galicia, from the unspoilt beaches and cliffs of Fisterra, Camariñas or Malpica; ; but also the wind-sculpted cliffs in Traba (Laxe).

Seafaring Galicia, coastal villages populated by fishermen and barnacles.

Rural Galicia, crops and livestock farms of Mazaricos,, dos hórreos (raised stone granaries) and mills dotted between Carnota and Bergantiños.

Mystical Galicia, from the ancestral worship of the sun in the Ara Solis of Fisterra to the healing rocks of the Virxe da Barca Sanctuary, and the Way of Saint James.

Megalithic Galicia, where the dolmen of Dombate, o the Hillfort of Borneiro (Cabana de Bergantiños) or even the Arca da Piosa (Zas) represent just a snippet of the vast legacy of the era.

Cultural and avant-garde Galicia, represented by contemporary architectural works such as the  Punta Nariga Lighthouse or the Cores Cemeterys.

And last but not least, Gastronomical Galicia, featuring its own outstanding products: barnacles from O Roncudo, o dry eels from Muxía ou as Coristanco potatoes.

On all these sides of the same coin, the sun is a feature in the landscape. Welcome to the land of the last twilight to be seen in the whole of Continental Europe.
