Description

In the O Morrazo motorway, we will take the exit to Domaio and head towards the mountain. We will arrive at a housing development that is half built, and we will leave the car there. At the back of the housing development there are some interpretative signs of the area. There is a path next to it that we will follow. There is a legend surrounding the Moura Pool. The story goes that many, many years ago a Moor arrived in Domaio with his beautiful daughter. The girl fell madly in love with a local farmer, meeting him in this spot. The father, opposed to this relationship, surprised them in the natural pool, and killed the farmer. The girl, maddened by the pain, dived into the pool and disappeared. It is said that since then, on summer nights, the moans of the Moorish girl can be heard coming from the pool. On the night of San Juan, according to legend, the Moorish lady appears at the pool, combing her long hair with a golden comb. The Moura Pool can be found in the river Muíños, A Miñouva, As Freixas or Pasaje, which rises in the Domaio mountain range and flows into the Vigo ria. It falls from a height of 50 metres on granite rocks, the last section enclosed between the houses. It is surrounded by acacias and eucalyptus trees in the upper part. It is surrounded by acacias and eucalyptus trees in the upper part. It is affected by the construction of the bridge over the Morrazo road.
