After a rest and a hearty breakfast, we propose that you park your car at the leisure area of the Alameda (tree-lined boulevard) and that you take an e-bike trip to the monastery of Caaveiro. You have two hours to enjoy the landscape and you can even stop for a refreshment or a snack of tostas (slices of toasted Galician bread with a topping) at the Taberna de Caaveiro. At the monastery, take advantage of the free guided tours to discover all the corners of the monastery and not miss a single detail. We suggest that you plan this activity carefully so that your arrival coincides with the beginning of one of the guided tours.
In the afternoon you have time to visit the town of Pontedeume, and in addition to roaming through its streets and visiting the famous tower known as Torre dos Andrade, we propose (optional activity) taking a kayak trip along its peaceful estuary. If there happens to be high tide you can head towards the mouth of the river Eume, and if there is low tide, you can explore the lovely coves that border the estuary and that are practically inaccessible by land. The lush and jagged coastline offers incredible views and is a perfect plan to end your adventure through these lands bathed by the river Eume.
INFO: We recommend that you confirm the timetables and periods for the guided tours to the monastery of Caaveiro with your travel agency.
