mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: PONTE A BARCA&body=I recommend you read the information PONTE A BARCA extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/6840/ponte-a-barca?langId=en_US
The bridge consists of one large span arch over the river, and two shorter arches on land. Prior to the construction of the bridge, a boat was used for transport between Pontevedra and Poio, hence the name of the bridge ("barca" means boat in Spanish). The bridge is decorated with bas-reliefs on the lower part of its wide support pillars. A canopy on the footpaths of the bridge protects pedestrians from the winds and rains of winter.
