Its construction seems to date from the 14th century. The church shows Romanesques and Ogival outlines. The church onterior consists of a single aisle, and of its three altars, the largest was a recent work by the Compostela artist resident in Vivero, José Otero Gorrita. It has a "Lignum Crucis" and the mircalulous image of the Virgin of Valdeflores, which, according to legends and traditions, was unearthed by a peasant. It is currently governed by Dominican nuns and classified as a National Artistic Monument.
