Description

Held every May to coincide with the feast of San Isidro (San Cidre), the patron saint of farmers, this festival began in the 1970s as a celebration of rural life and Galicia’s farming roots. Its most distinctive feature is the parade of floats, handcrafted by local residents, which creatively depict traditional agricultural tasks such as grape harvesting, threshing, mowing and maize gathering. Each float combines handmade decorations with typical local food and drink, freely offered to the public - regional wine, empanada, filloas, pig’s ear and chorizo, among others.
The festival stands out for its strong intergenerational involvement: older people, young adults and children work side by side for weeks, sharing knowledge, values and a sense of belonging. This collective process turns the preparation of the festival into a true community ritual.
Alongside the parade, the celebration also includes religious events, traditional music, dancing, popular games and spaces for social gathering, making Oural a vibrant hub of rural pride and community spirit.

Organised by the Camporrapado Festival Committee Association, this event is a living example of intangible cultural heritage. Today, it is a symbol of creativity, local identity and the collective memory of the region.
