Vías Verdes is a project of the Spanish Railways Foundation in collaboration with local and regional entities that function as promoters and managers for the enhancement of the old railway lines that ran through Spain, now in disuse, and their recovery as cycle tourism itineraries. and hikers.

Mostly non-motorized itineraries and accessible to all types of public. In parallel, with the conditioning of the old tracks, the built railway heritage has also been recovered, such as bridges, viaducts, tunnels and old stations reconditioned for new tourist and cultural uses.
