Description

The Domus is an interactive museum dedicate globally and monographically to the human being. The Address is the Paseo Marítimo of Riazor, in a building designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki.

The museum's motto is "Know yourself, as an individual and as a species" It seeks raising the curiosity and reflection about our species. All this without losing a hint of fun, the most stimulation ingredient in any human activity.

The visit. Experimenting with our own shadow, understanding why we look like our ancestors, measuring the speed of a penalty shot or beholding the images of a real childbirth are some of the proposals to be discovered during the visit. The exhibition “Neurons Games. Pieces of human intelligence” has as flagship colourful neuron network, set up with neurons mainly created by Galician schoolchildren. The showing suggests activities that put into practice different human abilities, such as trying to relax to win a mind measuring game, drawing following vocal instructions or checking reflexes and agility with buttons at several heights which should be pushed when turned on.

The section dedicated to human evolution invites us to know our origins and the characteristics that define us as species. We can take our family picture with our hominid ancestors or correct our aim with Altamira bison.

The offer of the Domus is completed with the contents of the temporary exhibitions hall, a 3D movie theatre and an Open Lab.
