Description


The foundation occupies the rooms of the House-Museum and the Classrooms of Juan Rodríguez, Macías O Namorado and Nicasio Pajares: objects related to the writer’s life and work, collections of paintings, drawings, newspaper library, collection of epistles, etc. The foundation also includes the “John Trulock” Railway Museum, grandfather of the Nobel Prize winner Camilo José Cela, manager of the West Galicia company which set up the first railway line in this community between Santiago de Compostela and Carril (Pontevedra). Uniforms, personal objects and those related to the railway, as well as the re-creation of a period station are some of its attractions. Inside you can visit a goods carriage and a steam engine called “Sestao”.
