This festival traditionally takes place in the town of Folgoso do Courel, alternating between the parishes of Folgoso de Courel and Seoane de Courel, and has been held in early November since 1986.
The people of the area come together to eat roast chestnuts and drink wine whilst taking in shows from the bagpipe band and other shows and activities, such as arts and crafts displays, religious celebrations, and tastings of chestnut-based produce or dishes that have chestnuts as the main ingredient.
