It is celebrated on Pentecost Monday.
The shrine of Nosa Señora das Virtues in A Ponte de Arante is home to one of the most important pilgrimages in the Ribadeo Municipality, where it is customary to bless the fields (to protect the crops) and sing Rogation days, traditions that date from the 15th century. At the same time, this festival commemorates the battle and victory of the residents of the seven parishes against Napoleon’s army, as it was here that the struggle between the residents and Napoleon’s army took place, in 1809.

The name of the pilgrimage came from the assistance of the residents from the seven parishes with the seven crosses: Arante, Ove, Cedofeita and Covelas from the Ribadeo municipality and Vidal, A Valboa and Sante from Trabada.

The most attractive moment of this celebration is the ritual with banners and crosses, when the bearers are placed opposite each other and lower these several times. Then the changing of the banner happens, a ritual that requires great skill, strength and precision as the banner must be parallel to the ground, without touching it.
