The River Miño runs through 350 kilometres from its source in Pedregal de Irimia to its mouth where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean.
Its headwaters are in the 336,668.9 hectare Terras do Miño Biosphere Reserve, the largest in Galicia and among the five largest in Spain.
