A MIÑA VIAXE
mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: FERVENZA DE GOSOLFRE&body=I recommend you read the information FERVENZA DE GOSOLFRE extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/211103000016/fervenza-de-gosolfre?langId=en_US
You can view this
waterfall by walking the Ruta das fervenzas trail from the Mazaricos town hall.
It will take you from the fields of the village of Gosollfre down to the banks
of the San Paio and Santa Locacia rivers, which flow towards the Noia estuary.
A
steep slope through a dense oak wood brings you to the waterfall. All around
you can hear the sounds of the forest and the falling water. Cross a simple log
bridge and follow the course of the river along the right bank.
The
first waterfall you see is a really straight drop that has cut a groove in the
stone. Below that fall is another 3-metre high waterfall, which is spilt in two
by the rock in the middle. The trail now circles around away from the river and
leads to one of the most impressive waterfalls, surrounded by a thick forest
that light does not manage to enter.
This
waterfall stands some 15 to 20 metres high and falls into quite a large natural
pool.
IMPORTANT: The path down to the
natural pool is very steep, so great care must be taken to avoid falling.
