The Vilameá River rises in the peaks of the Gerês-Xurés Transboundary Biosphere Reserve. At its source it is known as the Amoreira River and is a tributary of the Limia River.

The route that will take us to this waterfall begins at Ermida da Nosa Senhora do Gerês, next to which we will leave our vehicle to continue on foot along a path that will take us to the upper part of the river bank.

After walking approximately 2 kilometers, we arrive at a bridge that crosses the river, where we can already see one of the waterfalls. The path has become a trail and we will have to zigzag up to reach the point where the valley opens and from where we will see several of the waterfalls.
