This square has the typical layout of a square from the end of the 19th century; in the centre there is a commemorative monument, accompanied by a fountain, which is of later construction. It is surrounded by the most important buildings of the city, including the Town Hall, among others. It is also the start of the Alameda, the tree lined boulevard, and has ample space for pedestrians.
