Building strategically situated in the historic-artistic whole of the la Magdalena district. Official residence of the Captain General of the Cantabrian Maritime Zone Department. Opposite are situated the carefully tended Herrera gardens, with a grove of magnolias and the bronze statue of the naval officer, Jorge Juan, pointing out the arsenals, as he was one of the designers and the man who introduced English techniques in shipbuilding. This viewpoint affords one of the best views of the arsenals and the Ferrol river. Neoclassical building, with a smooth bossed first body, a second body with rectangular spaces finishing in a half-point arch and a third body with flat rectangular spaces. Two triangular pediments in the corners complete the building. Interesting example of architecture with military functions.
