Declared a historic national monument as the birthplace of Valle- Inclán, the Casa de O Cuadrante was part of the assets bequeathed from the Benedictine priory of Vilanova. Owned by Valle-Inclán’s grandparents on his mother’s side, the house witnessed the writer’s birth in the main bedroom on 28th October 1866. Today, the manor house contains a permanent exhibition on the ground floor that holds his biography, first editions of his books and documents of those times. The first floor recreates the author’s home at that time and outside, visitors can enjoy the beautiful garden.
