mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: IGREXA DE SAN XOÁN&body=I recommend you read the information IGREXA DE SAN XOÁN extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/4461/igrexa-de-san-xoan?langId=en_US
It was erected in the 12th century, under the jurisdiction of the Knights of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, devoted to the care of the pilgrims who visited Santiago.
The Rector House is joined to the church by the rear part. On the door of this second building we can see the symbol of the Order, a carved eight-pointed cross.
In this ensemble the rich varied decoration of its modillions, windows and doors stands out. Once inside it, we will admire the half-barrel vault, the Baroque altarpiece of Saint Michael and the image of the Virgin of Anguish.
You can visit permanently at 10:00 and 20:00 hours.
