Description

The Museum of Pilgrimages and Santiago is an institution that, despite its youth, has a long history. Established in 1951 at the initiative of Manuel Chamoso Lamas (1909-1985), its initial objective was to address the history of the city and the phenomenon of pilgrimages. After several years closed to the public, it reopened its doors in 1996 as a state-owned museum managed by the Xunta de Galicia.
