mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL MUNDO CELTA DE ORTIGUEIRA&body=I recommend you read the information FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL MUNDO CELTA DE ORTIGUEIRA extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/fi-co-000002/festival-internacional-mundo-celta-de-ortigueira?langId=en_US%26tp=97%26ctre=262
Thousands of people spend the night beside Morouzos Beach in Ortigueira, in a spacious free camping area under the pines. They have come to celebrate the International Festival of the Celtic World, which since 1978 has been the musical highlight of the summer in Galicia, a must-attend event for folk music lovers from around the world. For four days and four nights, the town is enchanted by the music of groups and performers with common cultural roots. Classic Celtic music bands and a good number of Galician artists share the stage with emerging and new groups looking to make a name for themselves in the Iberian Peninsula's folk scene.
The Ortigueira coast bustles with young people moving between the camping area – which offers a full range of services, with cleaning and maintenance provided by the town council – and the festival stages. There is also free transport from the parking areas to the campgrounds.
In addition to the musical programming, there are other cultural activities, from exhibitions, theatre performances and puppet shows, to a craft fair on the promenade. There is also the traditional parade of bagpipe bands from all the Celtic lands, including Scotland, Galicia and Asturias, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Cornwall, Wales and Brittany.
Highlight: Parade of bagpipe bands from every Celtic region on Sunday morning.
