The building was built in 1876 by Alejandro Rodríguez Sesmero. The outstanding feature is the balustrade of interlinked circles and jars on pedestals, which crowns the two facades. The building has three floors with continuous bolsters on the ground floor. The two upper floors are divided into three sections by pilasters with sculpted Ionic capitals. On the second and third floors the central opening is flanked by two shields, one inverted, which could belong to the ancestors of José Donesteve Quirós, born in Vigo in 1803 and a naval Brigadier by profession. The building was constructed by the contractor José González Bernárdez.
