A MIÑA VIAXE
mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: FERVENZA DE BOIXECIDE&body=I recommend you read the information FERVENZA DE BOIXECIDE extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/210602000084/fervenza-de-boixecide?langId=en_US%26tp=40004330
Parish: Donís (San Fiz)
Cervantes - Lugo
The Rego de Boixecide is a tributary of the Ortigal, which in turn is one of the headwaters of the river Ser, a tributary of the Navia.
It has a very steep course, forming several rapids and waterfalls. The most accessible waterfall is at the foot of the road that goes from Campa da Braña to Piornedo and drops over a 6-7 metre high quartzite cliff in two cascades.
After crossing the river you can see the lower part of the waterfall on the right which is easily accessible, even for children. But if you want to see the top part, you have to climb up the left side of it.
IMPORTANT: the climb to the top is on very slippery terrain, with loose rocks, moss, ferns and brambles, so be very careful.
