A MIÑA VIAXE
mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: FERVENZA DO FÍRBEDA OU DE FORXA&body=I recommend you read the information FERVENZA DO FÍRBEDA OU DE FORXA extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/210615000388/fervenza-do-firbeda-ou-de-forxa?langId=en_US%26tp=40004330
The River Fírbeda runs between Calvos de Randín and Porqueira and, in A forxa, its waters rush violently through the short descent through a canyon that is as winding as it is spectacular.
The walk begins by climbing up an asphalted path and then follows a trail on the left. You soon reach the riverbank and can see the first waterfalls, but the best is yet to come. After passing by the ruins of a mill you can head down to see another waterfall. Take great care at this point as you cross over on quite a slippery rock
Entering the canyon with the river is quite rash, so it’s best to head back a little to the path that leads to the viewpoints. Whilst the first viewpoint offers views over the canyon, the second looks onto the upper section of the waterfall where the water falls from a great height.
Take care if you visit with children as there are no safety barriers. The path continues upwards and, given the steep incline, there is a rope that is a great help, especially if it has recently rained and the ground is slippery.
