The river of Ponticela flows into the river Sil, tumbling down granite walls with a total drop of more than 100 metres. At the top there is a dam, which creates a small waterfall. Along its course, the river forms several rapids and waterfalls, but it is difficult to see them due to the lack of access and the surrounding vegetation. The only waterfall we can see from the top is the upper one. To do so, we must take the road towards Loureiro and then turn left onto the road that goes down to the Santo Estevo reservoir. Once there, we will cross to the left-hand side of the river below the dam and look out over a large granite rock, from where we will see the waterfall. It is quite a dangerous place and walking is not recommended if the rocks are wet.
