A MIÑA VIAXE
mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: POZAS DE MALLÓN&body=I recommend you read the information POZAS DE MALLÓN extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/210705000078/locale/?langId=en_US
To get to the Pozas de Mallón waterfall, head
to Entrimo and from there take the OU-1209 road towards Olelas. At the entrance
to the village, you will see a sign for the Pozas and follow the directions to
go down an asphalted track to the river. You will need to park where the track
ends and continue on foot.
Head back up the river on the right
bank until you find a bridge to cross the River Barcia or Castro Laboreiro,
which is part of the Miño-Limia Hydrographic Area. The river is a natural
border between Spain and Portugal, as it splits the Spanish municipality of
Entrimo (Ourense) and the Portuguese municipality of Melgaço (Viana do Castelo).
Up
until this point you will have seen small waterfalls but here is where the real
waterfalls start.
The
best place to get excellent views of the whole series of waterfalls and pools
is the viewpoint but getting there requires tackling quite a tough climb.
