To
get to this waterfall, take the A-8 motorway and exit at Abadín, then continue
on the LU-P-0107 and LU-P-0101 roads that travel through the Serra do Xistral
mountains towards the parish of San Xurxo de O Cadramón.
The start of the trail to this waterfall is signposted. Park
there and walk for 1.5km to get to it. The Guifonso river drops, falls, and
winds as it plunges into granite rock from a height of 80 metres at the
boundary between Alfoz and O Valadouro.
A stairway with handrails allows for safe descent down to it.
IMPORTANT: If you want to take
in the waterfall in all its glory you can use the rope you can find anchored
into the rock which will help you climb to the foot of the waterfall. Take
great care on this section, as the rocks are very slippery.
