To get close to these natural pools, we will go to O Carboal, in the municipality of Dumbría. As the route is not signposted, we will take as a reference a brick house next to the road and next to a carpentry shop. Just on the other side of the road is the start of the route. The path descends gradually and, on reaching a fork, we turn left to continue along a path to the banks of the river. As we walk along the path, which is not waymarked or signposted, we can see the different pools. In some cases, we will have to use our imagination to find a way to continue our descent. The river that forms these natural pools is the Buxantes river. In about 800 metres the water falls 40 metres in a succession of waterfalls.
