Parish: San Mamede de Hedrada (San Mamede)
Vilariño de Conso - Ourense
To reach the
viewpoint over this waterfall, head to the village of Hedrada, in Vilariño de
Conso. Park up at the entrance to the village before continuing on foot. Make
your way between the houses and, at the end, you will see a path that passes by
a fountain and rises all the way up to the waterfall.
There
are no signs showing the path to follow, except for an information board and
two signs at a split in the path halfway up the slope. One sign leads to the
waterfall and the other to Pico Ortiga.
Take
the right-hand path to get to the viewpoint where a wooden platform allows you
to take in the waterfall in all its glory.
The
total walking distance is roughly 3.2km (out and back). The climb is somewhat
steep and, when rainy, take care to avoid slipping on the stone path.
IMPORTANT: Water runoff in heavy rainfall may
make access to the viewpoint difficult or impossible.
