A MIÑA VIAXE
mailto:?subject=Content from Tourism of Galicia: FERVENZA DE BRAÑAS&body=I recommend you read the information FERVENZA DE BRAÑAS extracted from the Tourism of Galicia site on page https://www.turismo.gal/recurso/-/detalle/211007000099/fervenza-de-branas?langId=en_US%26tp=40004330
Start
out from Melide to visit the Brañas waterfall by taking the DP-4604 road
towards Friol. Stay on this road for 9 kilometres until you come to Ínsua and,
500m past Ínsua, turn off and follow the signs towards the waterfall.
The
joining of the rego da Pedra brook with the rego Salgueira brook forms the River
Furelos. A short distance
after the confluence, the river comes to an obstacle in the form of a vertical
drop that creates a 40-metre-high waterfall. At its foot there is a dilapidated
mill and a small rest area.
This
waterfall is in the Serra do Careón mountains, which are
classed as an SCI (Site of Community
Importance) and ZEPVN (Specially Protected
Area of Natural Assets).
