Description

A large number of festivities take place in Tui on the occasion of its patron saint festivities, which open with the traditional coronation of the queens of the festivities and include activities for all ages. There are also religious events, in honour of San Telmo, patron saint of navigators, a pilgrim saint who died in Tui when he was walking the Camino, and who is venerated throughout Galicia. The solemnity of the events is very significant. In fact, some of them are officiated in the Cathedral of Santa María by the Bishop of the Diocese of Tui-Vigo. It is worth seeing the procession of the saint, on the last day of the festivities, in which numerous guilds participate.
Among the most renowned events, the Popular do Meixón Festival stands out, a gastronomic festival around the prized eels of the Miño, which takes place on the Paseo da Corredoira; or the Feira Agrícola e Industrial do Baixo Miño, which attracts a large public from the province and neighbouring Portugal to this town.

Not to be missed:
Miño eel tasting, on Sunday.
